UWI Kick starts Jackie Bell Knockout on a winning note

The UWI Pelicans Football Club kicked start its quest for the Jackie Bell knockout title on a winning note when they defeated Real Mona 2-0 on Monday. Scholarship athlete and mid fielder Rochane Smith was the first to find the net sending the Mona Pelicans to the Butter Cup Park's dressing room with a 1-0 advantage at the stroke of half time.

The Pelicans who were ousted in the quarter finals of the preliminary round last year had no intention of repeating such a mishap. With this in mind, National Under 23 representative and UWI scholarship athlete Andrae Bernal secured victory for the Mona Pelicans when he found the back of the net before the final whistle.

UWI Mona will next face Real Mona on Monday, December 3, 2012 the return leg of the Knockout set to kick off at 3:30pm at the UWI Mona Bowl.
