- Carry as little cash, and wear as little jewelry as possible
when walking alone at night.
- Travel in groups when using an ABM at nights.
- Be alert and cautious at nights of anyone lingering around
or acting suspiciously.
- When walking alone have some sort of deterrent device
ready for use such as:
- Pepper spray
- Mace
- A personal alarm
- Keep, cash and jewelry in a locked drawer, closet or cabinet
in your room.
- Don’t accept rides, or engage in conversations with
strangers at night.
- Use the Campus Escort Service or Campus Alone Service
provided by the Campus Security Services when studying or
meeting in
secluded areas late at nights.
- When studying or using the library late, always ensure
that you have both male and female friends to walk you to
your Hall of Residence.
- Keep the Campus Security Service telephone numbers handy.
They are 935-8748/9 or extension 2748 or 2749 from any internal
telephone.
