COURSE TITLE:
ANALYSIS AND MANAGEMENT OF GEOHAZARDS AND RISKS WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO THE CARIBBEAN

The course would be offered at Level III in the B.Sc. General Degree Programme in the Department of Geography and Geology. It will be composed of 24 hours of theory and 36 hours of laboratory work (arranged as 12 lab session, 3 hours each) over a period of 4-5 weeks during the summer break at UWI, Mona and would contribute 4 credits to the degree.

Pre-requisites: Introductory courses in Geography (GG10A and GG10B) and Geology (GL 10A and GL 10B) or the qualifications determined by the Head of the Department.

Evaluation: One 2-hour written paper (60% marks); Laboratory and/or field project (40% marks).

The teaching programme will include lectures, laboratory work, seminars, review of case histories, fieldwork, and project work.
