Graduate Programmes

The Department offers two new taught masters programmes:

The M.Sc. in Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health (OESH)

Developed in 2005 with support from the Environmental Foundation of Jamaica (EFJ), UWI's Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health (OESH) programme is a collaborative effort between the Department of Chemistry, the Department of Community Health and Psychiatry and the Mona School of Business (MSB). It addresses the growing requirement for all employers, managers, supervisors, policy makers and public leaders for a functional awareness of the key issues related to environmental and occupational safety and health. It draws on the expertise from the labour movement, industry, governmental ministries of Labour and Health, the National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) and Jamaica Employer’s Federation (JEF).

The UWI Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health (OESH) programme offers professional development in the field of OESH through undergraduate, postgraduate and general interest courses.
