Mona Social Services/UWI Community Film Project (MSS/UWICFP)

Visit: MSS / UWICEP

The Mona Social Services (MSS), UWI, was established in 2008 to improve the social and economic conditions of the low-income communities surrounding the University of the West Indies Mona Campuses in Kingston and Montego Bay. In 2011 the UWI Community Film Project (UWICFP) was similarly established with its main focus on teaching inner-city youths the rudiments of film-making to improve their lives with this marketable skill, contributing to their families and communities.

Since both the MSS and the UWICFP were created with the aims to facilitate community intervention projects to improve the lives of residents in the surrounding communities of the UWI Mona Campuses in Kingston and Montego Bay, the entities were merged in 2020 to form the Mona Social Services/UWI Community Film Project (MSS/UWICFP).
