WATER RESTRICTION

ADVISORY TO STAFF AND STUDENTS

WATER RESTRICTION FOR SECTIONS OF THE CORPORATE AREA

The National Water Commission has advised that in light of the ongoing drought conditions and the adverse effects on its water supply systems, it will be implementing further restrictions on the supply of water to its customers.  The most recent system to be affected is the Hope Filter Plant in St. Andrew.

With immediate effect, water supply from the Hope Filter Plant will be restricted nightly between the hours of 10:00pm and 4:00am.  This means that customers will have no water between 10:00pm and 4:00am.

Areas that will be impacted by this restriction include:

·

August Town

·

Hope Road

·

Mona Heights

·

Liguanea

·

Mona Road

·

Ravinia

·

Papine

·

Kintyre

·

Hope Flats

·

Gordon Town and surrounding areas

Members of the university community will be affected by these restrictions and are therefore being urged to store water and practise careful conservation measures during these water rationing and regulation exercises.
