Dear Colleagues,

The 2025 Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) Early Career Grants Programme is now open for applications. The RSTMH provides annual grants to early career researchers from anywhere in the world to carry out their own research on aspects of tropical medicine or global health. Last year, the Programme provided 252 grants to those early in their careers to carry out their first piece of research into tropical medicine or global health. 

Objective:  The RSTMH Early Career Grants Programme encourages and supports the next generation of tropical medicine and global health and research professionals in:

• Growing their skills and networks
• Improving confidence and enabling the development; and
• The dissemination of interesting and innovative outcomes in tropical medicine and global health.

Eligible Applicants:     This funding opportunity is open to early career researchers and global health professionals based anywhere in the world, who have not previously had equivalent research funding in their own name.

Grant Amount:           Up to £5,000 (GBP)

Project Period:           One (1) year

Research Areas:          Applicants are invited to submit project proposals on any topic related to tropical medicine and global health, from across the research spectrum of lab, translation, implementation, and policy.

Application Process:   Eligible applicants are invited to submit an application form with 7 sections including a budget and references. A Guidance Webinar on completing the application for the 2025 RSTMH Early Career Grants Programme will be hosted at 12:00PM GMT/ 7:00AM EST on March 26th. Deadline:                   Applications for the RSTMH Early Career Grant are due Wednesday May 14, 2025 by noon BST/ 7:00 AM EST.
