It gives me great pleasure to welcome all new and returning students to The Faculty of Science and Technology of The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus. For new members of the faculty, gaining acceptance by the university is an important milestone in your life. Congratulations! Furthermore, credit must be paid to your family as they work assiduously behind the scenes to assist you during your passage through our institution.
The pioneering Faculty of Science and Technology is home to six teaching departments: Chemistry, Computing, Geography & Geology, Life Sciences, Mathematics and Physics. Collectively, the diverse courses that are offered here will provide you with a rich educational platform.
Our Faculty prides itself in developing world-class leaders in scientific discovery and technological advancements. We provide our students with the fundamental skills they will need to excel on their scholastic journey here and beyond. Education continues outside the classroom. Accordingly, students are encouraged to diversify their exposure by exploring other disciplines and participating in social activities, the end result being the achievement of the status of 'the ideal UWI Graduate.
