The 2020 Graduation Photo Centre

As the Graduation Ceremonies will be virtual, the presentation of graduands will be achieved by displaying portraits of Graduates in Graduation Gown and Faculty hood. Graduation portraits will be taken at the Photo Centre on campus from November 4, 2020 to November 21, 2020 at The UWI Mona Campus, and on November 27, 2020 and November 28, 2020 at The UWI Mona Western Jamaica Campus. We will be closed on all weekends except Saturday November 21, 2020

As we aim to keep you and other members of our community safe, we will be taking special measures to meet physical distancing requirements. As such, a schedule will be emailed to you with the specific dates and times of the photo sessions for each Faculty along with special instructions and COVID -19 protocols. 

Is it safe?

Yes it is! All the necessary precautions will be taken to ensure that you are safe during your visit at the Photo Centre. However, we ask that you help us by adhering to our health and safety protocols.

What we will do:

  • We will ensure that all individuals entering the Photo Centre keep a two metres/six feet distance.
  • Waiting area/seats will be six feet/two metres apart.
  • There will be several sanitization stations throughout the Photo Centre.
  • All employees will be fitted with face shields and/or masks.
  • All employees will clean hands often, using alcohol-based sanitizer (at least 70% alcohol) or using soap and water.
  • We will manage entrance, flow and capacity at all times.
  • All employees will stay home if sick.
  • We will clean and disinfect the frequently touched objects and surfaces in the Photo Centre at regular intervals throughout the day.
  • Each entrant’s temperature will be tested before being admitted entry into the Photo Centre.
  • Each entrant will be required to sanitize before entering the Photo Centre.
  • Each graduand will be fitted with a newly sanitized gown for their photo-shoot.

What are we asking you to do:

  • Do not attend your session if you are ill or experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms such as cough, fever, or difficulty breathing.
  • Please arrive at the Photo Centre no more than 5 - 10 minutes before or after your registered appointment time.
  • Upon arrival, check in with our staff and await guidance on the next steps.
  • Do not loiter outside of the Photo Centre before or after taking your photos.
  • Only graduands with an appointment for that specific date and timeslot will be permitted in the Photo Centre (family and friends will not be permitted).

Please abide by the established guidelines and health and safety protocols.

What do I wear?


White dress shirt with a tie

Jackets can be worn but are not compulsory

No t-shirts, polo shirts or bow ties are allowed

No t-shirts or polo shirts are allowed

Make-up Services

NB, Graduands must make their own arrangements for makeup as make-up stations will not be available in keeping with the COVID-19 health and safety guidelines.


Graduation fee is $6,800. This include the following:

Photo Package (includes digital copy and package prints)

Gown Rental for taking photos – each Graduand will be fitted with their own gown during the photo sessions). The gowns will be collected at the end of the session and packaged for cleaning/sanitizing.

You will be required to show proof of payment (e-receipt, printed receipt) to gain entry to the photo centre.
