Orientation for International Students

Welcome and Orientation 2013

The ISO organizes a special Welcome and Orientation programme for all incoming non-Jamaican students, both regional and international. The orientation precedes General Orientation for all first-year students. Special Orientation is usally held within two weeks prior to the start of each semester, that is twice, for each academic year. 

At orientation non-Jamaican students are introduced to the structure and support services of the campus as well as to Jamaican cultural life, including music, food, langauge and even dance.

First Year Experience (FYE)

Your first year at the UWI, Mona will set the tone and foundation for your academic success; therefore the UWI, Mona puts special emphasis on your first year on campus. Our students and special First Year Experience (FYE) Facilitators will help you to get comfortable and to take full advantage of opportunities available – and the UWI, Mona Campus is abuzz with opportunities to help you embark on your intellectual journey, explore and connect with the UWI and feel at home.
