Types of Training Session

  • Library orientation tours: Regular tours are conducted to introduce new students and staff to the services and layout of the library and any of its branches.
  • Training session during your class: This may be done to introduce the librarian to the students followed by more practical sessions.
  • Curriculum related: Students receive hands-on training in a training lab on how to find information for assignments and how to evaluate and cite information correctly.
  • Curriculum related training on OurVLE: In collaboration with the lecturer a short customized module can be developed and published on OurVLE to enable students to find information for a specific assignment, to evaluate information found and to cite the information correctly.
  • Curriculum- integrated training is created in collaboration with the lecturer/department. A module is identified in which information literacy is formulated as an outcome. Information skills are integrated within the module and assessed accordingly.
  • Personal Training: A lecturer or researcher may request an individual training session.
