Applicants for entry into the  Master of Philosophy (MPhil) programme should have at least an Upper Second Class degree in English. The programme comprises three taught semester courses (to be completed in the fIrst year) and a thesis of up to 40,000 words. These courses are chosen from among those offered for the MA Master of Arts. The programme may be completed in two years of full time study.
