Writing Picture Books Workshop
Kellie Magnus, founder and editorial director of Jackmandora, a Caribbean children's media company, will conduct a workshop focusing on writing picture books, early readers and chapter books for early-childhood and primary markets.
The workshop, hosted by the Department of Literatures in English, University of the West Indies, Mona, is scheduled for January 14, 21, 28 and February 4, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. each day. Interested persons should contact the department at 927-2217 or litsworkshop@gmail.com to register.

The Caribbean Association of Clinical Microbiologists is hosting their 10th Annual Symposium : The Rise (and Fall) of the Microbes; this Friday, October 31, 2014, in the Main Medical Lecture Theatre at the University Hospital of the West Indies. There will be three sessions running from 8:30am until 5:00pm and each session promises to be very interesting.
There will be a Skype interview with a Jamaican doctor in Liberia who will answer questons about Ebola. All are welcomed to attend.
