The Distinguished Lecture is presented in association with the Office of the Board of Undergraduate Studies.
 
Professor Richard Blackett is the Andrew Jackson Professor of History at the Vanderbilt University, Tennessee, USA. His lecture, entitled "The Southern Axis of the Atlantic Abolitionist Movement" will look at American fugitive cases in Jamaica and elsewhere in the Caribbean and their impact on relations between Washington and London.
