Launch of books on slavery in the Caribbean

Mar 23 2013 - 6:00pm The University of the West Indies Press and Lexington Books will launch two recent books on slavery in the Caribbean. They are: Aboliton and Plantation Management in Jamaica (1807 - 1838) and Agency of the Enslaved - Jamaica and the culture of freedom in the Atlantic world.
Guest speakers are Patrick Bryan, Professor Emritus, UWI; Douglas Hall, Professor of History, UWI; Verene Shepherd, Professor of Social History and UWI Director, Institute for Gender and Development Studies.
