The Caribbean Open Data Conference is a regional technology conference and code sprint, focused on open data, software innovation, and technology trends. The theme “Developing The Caribbean”, highlights the focus on Open Data as a catalyst for regional development, and the role of software development as a locus of innovation.
 
The eight participating countries are: Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, Cuba, Suriname, St. Kitts, Domninican Republic and Guyana.
 
The Conference is being staged under the theme, 'Developing the Caribbean'. Keynote Speaker is Paul Kukubo, who is well recognized and acknowledged for the significant achievements under his 2-term stewardship at the Kenyan ICT Board, which includes the Kenyan Open Data Initiative and more recently the launch of the Kenyan National ICT Masterplan.These highly regarded programs have enabled Kenya to use ICT as a leverage and catalyst to propel their economy and accelerate the rate of growth and development, and empowerment of citizens.
