The Centre for Excellence in Teaching & Learning (CETL, formerly the Instructional Development Unit) is celebrating 20 years of service to The UWI, Mona Campus.CETL invites educators to join them for various activities during the week of April 15-19, 2013, to celebrate their service to the Mona Campus, other stakeholders and partners. Activities include:
 
•    Best Practices in Teaching & Learning in Higher Education Exhibition
o    Dates:    Mon. April 15 to Thurs. April 18
o    Venue:    CETL’s Training Room (upstairs the Inter-Faculty Lecture Theatre)
o    Time:    9 a.m.- 4 p .m. each day
 
•    Lunch & Learn Teaching Showcase
o    Date:    Wed. April 17
o    Venue: CETL’s Training Room
o    First Session: 12 noon – 1 p.m.
o    Second Session: 1 p.m. - 2 p.m.
 
•    CETL’s 20th Anniversary Celebrations and Appreciation Ceremony
o    Date: Thurs. April 18
o    Venue: Faculty of Medical Sciences Teaching & Research Complex, Lecture Theatre A008
o    Time: 6 p.m.
 
•    CETL’s 20th Anniversary Teaching & Learning Workshop – “Blended Learning Workshop: Transitioning from face-to-face classes to blended learning”
o    Date: Fri. April 19
o    CETL’s Training Room
o    Time: 9 a.m. – 12 noon
 
 
The CETL is the arm of The University of the West Indies that is charged with the responsibility of advancing teaching and learning through the professional development of faculty. Since 1992 the CETL has facilitated numerous pedagogical workshops/seminars on innovative teaching strategies and contemporary thinking in higher education, held one-on-one consultations with faculty and hosted the annual UWI/Guardian Life Premium Teaching Awards/Premium Teaching Lecture.
