Public Lecture - International legal framework for combating Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing
The Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism (CFRM) in collaboration with the Norman Manley Law School, Fisheries Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries and the Department of Life Sciences Mona Campus, UWI, invite all interested persons to a public lecture on: "The international legal framework for combating Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) fishing: Lessons from Australia’s enforcement experience"

About the Speaker
Professor Warwick Gullett is a graduate of Monash University (LLB, 1995, BA (Hons), 1997) and the Australian National University (PhD, 2002). He joined the University of Wollongong in 2004 after spending three years as a Lecturer at the Australian Maritime College in Tasmania. He served as Associate Dean (Research) and Head of Postgraduate Studies in the Faculty of Law from 2009-2011 and as Deputy Director of the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security (ANCORS) in 2012 prior to being appointed Dean of Law on 1 November 2012.
Professor Gullett’s teaching in the LLB program has included Law of Torts, Law of the Sea and Marine Resources Law and he has coordinated and contributed to various ANCORS professional short courses and Masters units. His primary research interests are in the fields of the international law of the sea, environmental law and marine policy. His work has been cited by the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, Commonwealth Administrative Appeals Tribunal, NSW Land and Environment Court and the South Australian Environment, Resources and Development Court. His current research projects are in the areas of offshore law enforcement and Indigenous rights in intertidal areas.
From 2008-2010 Professor Gullett was Editor of the Australian Journal of Maritime and Ocean Affairs. He is on the Editorial Committee of the Australasian Journal of Natural Resources Law and Policy and serves as Fisheries Editor for the Environmental and Planning Law Journal.
He is the author of the book Fisheries Law in Australia published in 2008 and editor, with Clive Schofield and Joanna Vince, of the multidisciplinary book Marine Resources Management, published in 2011.
