The Art of Effective Grant Writing

This workshop provides instruction and hands-on experience in the preparation of grant applications for the National Institute of Health (NIH) or similarly-structured granting agencies. In order to be able to understand the concepts of grant writing, prior scientific writing experience, knowledge of basic study design and statistical methods are recommended before participating in this workshop. Main Presenter is Dr. Mark PereiraAssociate Professor, Program Director, Public Health Nutrition Division of Epidemiology & Community Health, School of Public Health, University of Minnesota, Minnesota USA.Dr. Pereira and his team have been the receipients of over USD10 Million in National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant funding in areas such as Impact of Maternal Diabetes and Depression, Genetic and Environmental Determinants of Type 2 Diabetes in Chinese Singaporean, Physiologcal Impact of Sugar-Sweetened and Non-Nutritive Soft Drink.
