University Players presents 'Departure in the Dark'
For its next major production, the award-winning Jamaican theatre company will present a new staging of a play from the pre-Independence period entitled, ‘Departure in the Dark’ by Jamaican playwright Samuel Hillary. The revival of this classic Jamaican ‘yard play’ will be staged by award-winning director Brian Heap, with a cast of seasoned performers led by University Players and pantomime veteran actors, Nadean Rawlins as Lilian Martin and Melward Morris as her nephew Ivan. Other cast members include Julene Robinson, Jean-Paul Menou, Elizabeth Brown, Jacquie Higgins, Audley Green and Shanique Brown.
'Departure in the Dark' plays on Thursdays to Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays @ 6 p.m.
