"A Tribute to Madiba Nelson Mandela, His Work and Legacy"
The Department of History and Archaeology and the Department of Government, the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus will host a joint panel discussion on the life, work and legacy of Nelson Mandela, Leader of the Anti-Apartheid Movement, Liberator, and former President of the Republic of South Africa.
The Panelists include Dr. Enrique Okenve, Lecturer in African History, Department of History and Archaeology,Dr. Raymond Brown, Diplomat in Residence, Department of Government, Professor Rupert Lewis, Retired Lecturer, Department of Government, who will speak on "The Politics of Mandela's Legacies." Professor Waibinte Wariboko, Lecturer in African History, is the Discussant.
Arguably, Mandela is regarded as the most outstanding international statesman of the highest order of the 20th century, having inspired many persons from all walks of life.
The public is invited to this important event.
