  •  Part1 – February 11, 2014;
  • Part 2 – March 21, 2014.

Each year thousands of high school students from all over the world take part in the International Masterclasses on Particle Physics, sponsored by the International Particle Physics Outreach Group, and hosted by a local University or Research institute. This year Jamaica has been invited to participate and the UWI is proud to be hosting this event. Jamaica high school  students and their teachers will be exposed to cutting edge research into the fundamental properties and forces of matter and will be given the opportunity to perform experiments using data generated from the largest physics experiment ever conducted, the Large Hadron Collider at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research),  and interact with the world's leading particle physicists.

The masterclasses take place in two stages, the first is a preparatory workshop for high school teachers only to be held on February 11, 2014 and the second, scheduled for March 21, 2014 will involve both teachers and students.
