Mammogram Screening
The Mobile Mammography Unit of the Jamaica Cancer Society will be conducting mammograms at the University Health Centre on Thursday, July 31, 2014 and Tuesday, August 12, 2014. Clients should:
- be aged 40 years and over
- not have had a mammogram in the past year
- not be pregnant
- not be breastfeeding
It is recommended that each client wears a two-piece outfit, which will allow only thetop to be removed for the test. No talcum powder should be on or around the breastarea.
Women who had their mammograms done a year ago are being reminded that itshould be done annually. We are also encouraging those who have not had one done (provided you meet the above criteria) to use this opportunity to do the test.The cost of the mammogram is $700.00 with your insurance card.
