Amlata Persaud is a Visiting Researcher at the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES) and a doctoral candidate in the International and Comparative Education Program at Teachers College, Columbia University, pursuing an Ed.D degree in International Education Development. She received the Rhodes Scholarship in 2004, becoming the first female Guyanese to win this prestigious award.
