Sheree Heaven

Students pursuing the Social Work option are placed in a variety of agencies so they can experience the connections between theory and practice and develop an appreciation of the place of knowledge to effective interaction. This Practicum is an integral part of the Social Work degree offered by the UWI, Mona.

Social work student, Sheree Heaven, is pursuing her practicum at Ferdie’s House – an educational, activity therapy centre for the mentally challenged. She is engaged in one of her counselling sessions with clients as she uses her knowledge of therapeutic intervention with individuals, to help these persons improve their interpersonal skills.
