Among the programmes aimed at unleashing the creative energy and talent of students at The UWI, Mona Campus is the annual Choir Fest, initiated by the Rex Nettleford Hall of Residence. Choral groups from the various halls of residence compete for awards in classical, vocal spiritual, vocal gospel, popular music and folklore categories.

The Taylor Hall Chorale emerged Champion of Choir Fest 2012, highlighting the multi-talented student body at The UWI, Mona and ways in which the Campus nurtures its development. The Chorale won awards for Best Vocal Gospel Presentation, Best Folklore Presentation, Best Popular Music Presentation, Best Popular Music Presentation, Best Ensemble Presentation and Best Medium Choir Presentation.
