Poetry at its best

The annual Poetry Clash organised by the Department of Literatures in English, provides an exciting opportunity for confident young poets to share their talent. Entrants are each given a specified time to read or perform a selection of original pieces. A panel of judges, assisted by the audience, select the finalists who “clash” once more in a heated battle of words, wit and metaphor. At the first Clash, Peta-Gaye Williams (centre) emerged the unanimous winner, with Debronique Ellis (right) and Deidre Lewis placing second and third, respectively.
