Undergraduates like Joleen Tomlinson may pursue a major or minor in Entertainment and Cultural Enterprise Management (ECEM) through the Institute of Caribbean Studies in the Faculty of Humanities and Education. ECEM is an industry-facing programme, designed to produce innovative entertainment and cultural industry leaders who understand the convergence of media, information technology, management, production and culture within local and global contexts.

The programme focuses on entrepreneurial development and innovation. It fuses theoretical and practical approaches to the development and administration of entertainment and cultural industries. ECEM’s internship programme provides students with an opportunity to interface directly with and gain experience in these areas. Courses covered by the ECEM programme include Music Business Management; Producing Culture - music festivals and events; Entertainment, Media and Culture, Deconstructing the Culture of Sport; African Diaspora Film and Caribbean Fashion.
