Providing Leadership in Technical and Vocational Education and Training and Workforce Development

Dr. Disreali Hutton, Dr. Halden Morris and Dr. Moses Peart

The introduction of Master of Arts, MPhil and PhD Programmes in Leadership in the area of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Workforce Development in The UWI, Mona Institute of Education, signals a new and exciting era in education and training at the institution and reinforces the University’s commitment to regional development.  These programmes founded by Dr. Halden Morris and developed with the assistance of Drs. Disraeli Hutton and Moses Peart aim at providing an opportunity for technical and vocational education professionals to aspire to their full educational potential and ensure the provision of informed leadership in the field. 

Graduates will be prepared to meet the needs of public and private sector industrial organizations, training institutions, and Ministries of Education regionally. These persons will be capable and prepared to facilitate/provide research, policy development, capacity building, quality training, and leadership to monitor and guide developments in TVET and workforce preparation.
