HOMECOMING THROUGH THE AGES

On February 16, 1950, the then University College of the West Indies installed its first chancellor. Since that time, the date February 16 has been used to commemorate this initial step which marked the beginning of the journey to becoming a full-fledged university. The observation of Mona Homecoming Celebrations (formerly, Commemoration Celebrations and Alumni Week) began in 2001 and provides an opportunity to celebrate the founding of the University and recognize its regional nature while assisting to engender a greater sense of belonging and develop a feeling of camaraderie among staff, students and graduates.
Homecoming Through the Ages is a digital presentation showcasing highlights from past stagings on our Social Media platforms. We invite your participation by using the hashtag #UWIHomecoming2021 to post images or videos of your Hall, Club, Faculty, and Country Association or any group that is a part of our vibrant UWI Mona Community.
