2019 MATRICULATION AND WELCOME CEREMONY
Congratulations on earning a place at The University of the West Indies (The UWI).
You are now a member of a university that is ranked #1 in the English Speaking Caribbean and the only institution in the Caribbean ranked among the top 5% of Universities in the world!
You are invited to attend the Matriculation and Welcome Ceremony for all New Students on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in the Orientation Tent, on Gibraltar Hall Road, (next to the Old Library).
The Matriculation Ceremony is the occasion on which new students are formally recognized as members of the University. The signing of the Matriculation Register formally marks your acceptance into this academic community.
DRESS CODE
Females: White blouse and black skits/pants
Males: White Shirt and black trousers
DRESS CODE EXCEPTIONS
Students at Excelsior Community College, Knox Community College and Brown’s College are allowed to wear their respective uniforms.
SIGNING OF THE MATRICULATION REGISTER
- Signing of the Matriculation Register begins at 2:00 p.m.
- Go to the small tents which are just across from the Orientation Tent.
- Look for your Faculty Tent(s). An usher will direct you to your Signing Table.
- Once you have signed your name, should go inside the Tent where an usher will direct you to a seat.
- You are expected to remain for the duration of the Ceremony which is just about 1 hour.
- There will be no signing of the Register after the Ceremony unless rain disrupt the signing.
