JAMAICA COMMITTEE OFFERS SCHOLARSHIP

A new scholarship in Primary Education valued at some two hundred and forty thousand
Jamaican dollars (J$240,000) over two years, will be offered at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, beginning in the 2004-2005 academic year.

The scholarship has been donated by the Jamaica Committee, a U.S. based, not for profit corporation, comprised of Jamaicans and lovers of Jamaica who are committed to helping provide the people of Jamaica with a better life.

There will be one award which will cover tuition for each of the two years of the Bachelor of Education programme at the Mona Campus.

Applicants for the Jamaica Committee Scholarship must be graduates of a Teachers’ College with a diploma in Primary Education; must have taught in a primary school in Jamaica for at least three years; must be involved in co-curricular activities and must have verifiable financial need.
