The three campuses of the University of the West Indies i.e. Mona, Cave Hill and St. Augustine will be implementing a new, state-of-the-art integrated online system in its libraries in 2007. The Mona Campus will launch the system on Wednesday, January 3, 2007. This means that the users of the library will encounter a completely new online catalogue that is more user-friendly and provides improved services.

The new Library Integrated System, ALEPH was selected over a number of other tenders based on its capabilities and its compatibility with the needs of the library’s clients. It is a software from Ex Libris, a worldwide pioneer, with over twenty years of experience in the field of software solutions for libraries and information centers.

The members of the library staff have been undergoing intensive training in preparation for this new system. Various activities and training sessions have also been planned in order to sensitize and train users.
