Advisory on the death of Dr. Peter Vogel
Posted: July 19, 2007
The Campus community has been shocked and saddened at the death of Dr. Peter Vogel of the Department of Life Sciences. Dr. Vogel was found dead at his home at 2 Long Mountain Close early this morning by a relative. The police advise that he was found bound hand and foot and gagged in his study, but there were no stab nor gunshot wounds. They report that a grill door at the rear of the house was open, and there were no signs of break-in. They indicate that the helper who was still at the house when the children went to bed has not turned up for work today, and they believe that she can help them in their investigations. Dr. Vogel’s Vitara was missing, as were a computer and TV at least. Investigations continue.
As a precaution until further information can be obtained from police investigations, additional guards have been assigned to patrol the College Common residential area at night.
