MONA CAMPUS TO CLOSE DUE TO HURRICANE THREAT

The University of the West Indies wishes to advise that due to the threat posed by Hurricane Dean the Mona Campus will close at l:00 tomorrow, Saturday August 18, 2007 until weather conditions permit.
The University further advises that Parent Orientation scheduled for Sunday August 19 and the General Orientation activities scheduled to start on Monday August 20 have been postponed until further notice.
All Jamaican students who are resident on campus are required to vacate the Halls of Residence by 9.00 a.m. on Saturday August 18 and return home. Special arrangements for accommodation are being made for non-Jamaican students who have to remain on hall.
All new and returning students, who have been offered accommodation in halls should remain at home until further notice
Members of staff who reside on campus are advised that the Assembly Hall will be the emergency shelter, should the need arise.
