The Rex Nettleford Foundation, in collaboration with The University of the West Indies and the National Dance Theatre Company, will be honouring the late Professor the Hon. Rex Nettleford with a week of activities from February 6-11 to mark his passing on February 2, 2010.  The week began with a Memorial Service on Sunday, February 6 at the tomb of the late Professor Nettleford.

Other events planned to mark the life of Professor Nettleford will include the launch of two books, ‘From the Heart: Eulogies by Rex Nettleford’ and ‘Jamaica Mahogany: Tributes to Rex Nettleford – Celebration of a Multi-textured Life’. The launch takes place on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 6 pm at the Mona Visitors’ Lodge and Conference Centre, UWI, Mona.

To culminate the Week of events there will be a concert dubbed, University Singers and Friends: Remembering Rex on Friday, February 11 at 6 pm at the UWI Chapel. Tickets cost $1000 and $500 for UWI students.
