The Actuarial Foundation Awards Two UWI Students with Scholarships

The Actuarial Foundation has awarded two students from the Department of Mathematics, UWI, Mona with Caribbean Actuarial Scholarships for the 2010/ 11 academic year. The recipients are Tashai Fung from Jamaica whose scholarship is valued at Two Thousand Five Hundred United States Dollars (USD $2500) and Johnathon Craig from Trinidad and Tobago, who received One Thousand Five Hundred United States Dollars (USD $1500).
The Caribbean Actuarial Scholarship was established in memory of Basil L. and Monica G. Virtue by their son-in-law, S. Michael McLaughlin, an actuary who graduated from the University of the West Indies. This scholarship is an annual award to University of West Indies actuarial students who demonstrate a strong record of accomplishment, leadership qualities and a commitment to becoming an actuary.
