Hansle Parchment, a scholarship athlete at UWI, Mona who is in his second year in the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences erased the 110M Hurdles record in a time of 14:09 seconds at the recent Gibson Relays held at the National Stadium. The runner up spot in this race went to Deuce Carter, another scholarship recipient at UWI, Mona pursuing a major in Philosophy.

UWI Mona male and female teams also contested the 4x100 m and 4x400 m relays and finished 6th in the Clubs and Institutions category of the relay carnival.
