The University of the West Indies Mona Library marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Jamaican author Victor Stafford Reid with an exhibition on his life and works.

Apart from posters the exhibition displays published works as well as papers and photographs from the VS Reid Collection held in the Library.

In addition to being a writer Reid held several posts in the Jamaican government, including Chairman of the Jamaica National Trust Commission, and a Trustee of the Historic Foundation Research Centre in Kingston. He won a number of awards including, Silver Musgrave Medal in the field of Literature , the Non-resident Canada Fellowship, the Gold Musgrave Medal in the field of Literature , the Order of Jamaica as well as the Norman Manley Foundation Award for Excellence for his contribution to Literature in Jamaica.

The Exhibition is currently mounted in the Catalogue Hall of the Main Library and will run from May 1-June 30.  Please view at your leisure or consult the Finding Aid HERE
