First Heritage Cooperative Credit Union (FHC) has joined forces with the University of the West Indies’ United Theological College to provide attractive education loans to UTCWI students.
FHC will offer the students of UTCWI Education Loan options which include higher loan limits (Secured & Unsecured), flexible repayment terms and attractive interest rates. The partnership agreement was signed by Mrs. Maria Morrison, acting CEO of FHC and Rev. Dr. Marjorie Lewis, President of the UTCWI.
Mrs. Morrison noted that in light of Jamaica’s economic challenges, students are always eager to secure funds for tuition at affordable interest rates. One way of facilitating this, she said, was to create greater synergies through facilitating partnerships and collaboration.
In signing the partnership agreement, Mrs. Morrison said the collaboration is an excellent opportunity for both institutions to achieve their respective objectives. Rev. Dr. Marjorie Lewis, President of the UTCWI said she is very optimistic at the thought that students will now be able to access affordable financing in a bid to pursue tertiary education.
First Heritage Cooperative Credit Union Limited (FHC) was formed from the merger of GSB Co-operative Credit Union Limited and Churches Co-operative Credit Union on August 1, 2012.
