The UWI LEADS Programme is inviting all participants interested in becoming Peer Leaders for the Academic Year 2014-15 to submit Essays of no more than 750 words by the latest July 11 as part of the process of selection. The invitation is particularly extended to all those that participated in the UWI LEADS programme 2013-2014. Interviews will be scheduled for the week of August 4 to August 8.
 
The essays should cover the following:

• What being a peer leader means to you?

• Why do you want to become a Peer Leader?

• What is your leadership philosophy?

 
 
Essays should include the following information:

• ID#

• Year of Study in the upcoming Academic Year 2014-2015

• Hall of Attachment

• Commuter/Resident

• Programme(s) Completed (Gold, Diamond, Platinum, Social Justice)

• Name of your previous Peer Leader(s)

Persons successful in the interviews are expected to attend the annual Leadership Retreat and Student Leaders Conference(August 12-August 15, 2014). UWILEADS leadership retreat is scheduled for Tuesday August 12 and Wednesday August 13. Thursday August 14 and Friday August 15 is scheduled for the Student Leaders Conference. The Student Leaders Conference is for all students in leadership positions in Clubs, Halls of Residence and the Guild from UWI Mona and UWI-Western Jamaica Campus. Specially invited guest presentations are expected from heads of government and the private sector.
