The University of the West Indies Press is pleased to announce that The Haunted Tropics: Caribbean Ghost Stories, edited by Martin Munro, has been named the winner in the Anthology category of the 2017 Next Generation Indie Book Awards (NGIBA).
 
The Next Generation Indie Book Awards is the largest not-for-profit book awards programme for Indie authors and independent publishers. In its eleventh year of operation, the Next Generation Indie Book Awards was established to recognize and honour the most exceptional independently published books in over 70 different categories, for the year,  and is presented by the Independent Book Publishing Professionals Group www.IBPPG.com) in cooperation with Marilyn Allen of the Allen O’Shea Literary Agency.
 
Over the last twenty-five years, UWI Press books, and authors have received over eighty-five local, national and international awards. These awards have been given for scholarly, editorial, design, production and marketing excellence.
 
The Haunted Tropics: Caribbean Ghost Stories has received numerous awards since Its publication, including Foreword Reviews’ 2015 INDIEFAB Book of the Year Award, Honorable Mention, Horror (Adult Fiction), and Foreword Reviews’ 2015 INDIEFAB Book of the Year Award, Finalist, (Anthologies).
