UWI Global Giving is set to benefit from a partnership with Massy United Insurance Ltd (MUI) which has established a scholarship valued at $1.65 million dedicated to students studying Actuarial Science.

Winsome Gibbs, branch manager, last Friday, handed over a cheque in that amount to Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal of The UWI Mona Campus, Professor Dale Webber.

The scholarship will be available to applicants studying Actuarial Science following the successful completion of their first year of the programme. This award will cover tuition and accommodation costs for the awardee for the remainder of the programme.

Speaking at the handing over, Professor Webber expressed his gratitude to Massy United Insurance for their contribution to increasing access to higher education for UWI students citing it as “one of the main goals as an institution and a cornerstone for building a better nation.”
