‘One of Our Sons’
The Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts initiates its season of plays exploring Caribbean responses to issues surrounding HIV/AIDS, with the opening of Godfrey Sealey’s drama ‘One of Our Sons….’. Previously staged under the title “One of Our Sons is missing”, the play takes an uncompromising look at the risks to which young people may be exposed in their relationships, often without being fully aware of them.
‘One of Our Sons….’ is directed for the stage by Brian Heap, Staff Tutor in Drama at the Philip Sherlock Centre, and features the talents of Nadean Rawlins, Maurice Bryan, Christopher McFarlane, Lynier Hines, Monique Caesar, Michael Watson and Clive Forrester. Performances run from October 15-17 and 22-24, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m. Tickets are $500 and $300 for students with ID. A special rate of $200 is available for student groups of 10 or more. The net proceeds of a special opening night, by invitation only performance will be given to the Jamaica Aids Support.
