Jamaica Association of Distance and Open Learning (JADOL) will celebrate a week of activities from Saturday, October 23 to Thursday, October 28. The theme for the week is E-Learning as a Mode of Distance Education. On Monday, October 25 JADOL will host its Annual General Meeting at the JAMAL Foundation, 47b South Camp Road, Kingston 4 at 3:00 p.m.
On Wednesday, October 27 starting at 8:30 a.m. there will be a Seminar on E-learning at the Terra Nova Hotel, 17 Waterloo Road, Kingston 10. Guest Speaker at the opening ceremony will be Hon. Phillip Paulwell, Minister of Commerce and Technology. This will be followed by a presentation by Ms. Vilma Gregory of Vilcomm Services International Ltd. and UTech Virtual Learning on E-learning: Institutional and Student Preparedness.
The association will host a workshop on Thursday, October 28 also at the Terra Nova Hotel from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Open Source Software. Presenters will be Mr. Mark Bellinger of the US Peace Corps and Mr. Howard Smith of the UWI Distance Education Centre.
