The Instructional Development Unit (IDU) is pleased to announce that Dr. Willard Pinnock, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry is the winner of the first UWI/Guardian Life Premium Teaching Award for 2004. In a ceremony held on October 7 and attended by his colleagues, family, friends and special guests, Dr. Pinnock accepted his award of cash and two trophies.
The other nominees for the award Dr. Hedy Isaacs (Department of Government) and Mr. Livingston White (CARIMAC) received trophies and high commendations for the quality of their teaching portfolios. The expectation is that the ceremony will motivate other lecturers to apply for the 2006 award.
