Research Ethics Conference

The Mona Campus of the University of the West Indies and the University of Miami Bioethics Programme in association with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the National Health Fund (NHF) will be presenting a conference on Research Ethics from April 28-30. The theme is “Research Ethics a Global Concern – Regional Solutions”.
The objectives of the conference are: to build awareness of the importance of research ethics across the broad spectrum of research activity and to lend support to or encourage the creation of Ethics Review Committees.
A special guest is Professor Sir George Alleyne, Chancellor of the UWI and Director Emeritus of PAHO. Other speakers include members of the legal fraternity, medical doctors, ethicists, academics and journalists. The conference is open to the public and will be held in the Social Sciences Lecture Theatre, Mona Campus. Nurses will receive 13 credits towards their CME if they attend the conference for both days at a cost of $500.00 per day. Doctors will receive 18 credits towards their CME if they attend the conference for both days also at a cost of $500.00 per day.
