The Department of Language, Linguistics and Philosophy, UWI Mona will host Philosophy Day 2004 on Thursday, November 18 under the theme Philosophy, Poverty and Human Rights. The day is being sponsored by UNESCO Caribbean, Kingston, Jamaica and the day’s programme takes place in the Multifunctional Room, Main Library starting at 9:00 a.m. and ends with a public lecture at 6:00 p.m. The lecture will be given by Dr. Sunday O. Iyare and is titled Poverty and Hunger in the Caribbean – Human Rights Issue.
