The University Scholarship Examination - 2005
Applications are invited from persons wishing to sit the University Scholarship Examination which is to be held on March 7 and 8, 2005. The University administers on its own behalf and on behalf of the governments and private donors a number of scholarships and exhibitions on the basis of the performance of candidates in the annual scholarship examination. Persons who will be applying to enter The University of the West Indies in August 2005 and first year students who entered the University in August 2004 are eligible to apply. Applicants for the scholarship examination must also apply for entry to the University using the appropriate application forms.
The examination consists of two general papers. Paper one will comprise a multiple choice section testing language and comprehension skills and a production section requiring summary and essay writing. Paper two will focus on spatial, structural perception and problem solving. Application forms are available from the Assistant Registrar for examinations at the Mona Campus; site coordinators at the community colleges; teachers colleges and guidance counsellors of high schools. The deadline for application is Friday December 10. No late applications will be considered.
