Research Day

Plans are now advanced for Research Day 2005 at The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus. Research Day 2005 will take place on January 27 and 28 with the theme Natural Hazards, Disasters and Sustainable Development. The opening ceremony takes place on Thursday, January 27 at the Undercroft of the Senate Building. The Governor General, Sir Howard Cooke will officially declare the opening of Research Day and the Guest Speaker will be Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr. the Hon. Omar Davies. Research Day features a two day exhibition on research underway at the Mona Campus as well as fora on Living with Natural Hazards and Determining Natural Hazards Risk and Vulnerability. A film entitled ‘Tsunami’ will be shown during the lunch hour on Thursday, January 27.
